It's happening! Rihanna and Lupita Nyong'o to star together in a movie thanks to fans on Twitter

Y'all remember this picture of Rihanna and Lupita Nyong'o that went viral after twitter users created a movie scene out of it? Well the movie is finally happening.  After an aggressive bid at the Cannes Film Festival, Netflix has won the rights to produce the movie. The movie will be directed by DeVernay while the screenplay would be written by Issa Rae. The whole idea of the movie was created after a twitter user shared a photo of Rihanna and Lupita at a FAshion in 2014 and captioned it; “Rihanna looks like she scams rich white men and lupita is the computer smart best friend that helps plan the scans,” The tweet has now received over 96,000 retweets (It’s since been reported that the original idea actually came from Tumblr). Both stars then expressed interest in the idea on Twitter, followed by Selma director DeVernay and Insecure writer Issa Rae. ISIS supporters celebrate Manchester Arena bomb attack that killed 22

ISIS supporters have been celebrating the bomb attack that occurred in Manchester Arena during Ariana Grande's concert which killed 22 people and left several injured. They are yet to officially claim responsibility for the attack though. There were reportedly two blasts at the concert, killing and injuring concert goers who were leaving the venue.  Moments following the attack, while the UK and the rest of the world mourned the senseless deaths, Twitter accounts linked to Islamic State used hashtags referring to the blast to post celebratory messages, with some users encouraging similar attacks elsewhere. "It seems that bombs of the British airforce over children of Mosul and Raqqa has just came back to Manchester," one user named Abdul Haqq said on Twitter. Abdul's tweet about Mosul and Raqqa is a reference to the Iraqi and Syrian cities held by the militants where a American-led coalition is conducting air strikes. UK police arrest 23-year-old man in relation to the Manchester Arena terror attack

Greater Manchester Police say they have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the bombing at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester. Police say the suspect was arrested today in south Manchester. The incident had been a suicide bombing and the attacker, a man carrying an IED that he detonated, died on the spot. 22 other people died. 59 are reported to have been injured while a lot of children and teenagers are still missing. Parents and relatives of concert goers who are yet to be found since yesterday have taken to social media to share photos of their loved ones and request for anyone with information about them to reach out. As regards the 23-year-old arrested in relation to the attack, authorities did not provide further details.

First victim of Manchester Arena bombing identified as 18 year old Georgina Callander

18-year-old, Georgina Bethany Callander has been named as the first confirmed victim of the terror attack at Manchester Arena. The teenager was one of 22 people killed by the blast as she left the concert by Ariana Grande Manchester Arena, London.   On Saturday, Georgina who had met Ariana Grande two years ago at a concert tweeted that she was so excited to see Ariana. "So excited to see u tommorrow''. The teenager's friends paid tribute to her on Twitter, describing her as a "beautiful girl with the kindest heart and soul". She was rushed to hospital and died with her mother at her bedside, according to the Evening Standard

Cultists behead notorious gang leader, kill 5 others in Rivers

PORT HARCOURT—A cultist, Chukwuemeka Emenike, was yesterday behea-ded in a cult clash that claimed six others in two communities, Rumuekini, Obio/Akpor council, and Omerelu community in Ikwerre council of Rivers State. It was gathered that suspected cultists had on Sunday night beheaded him, abandoned his body in a drainage around Rumuekini community and displayed the decapitated head on the East-West Road area of Rumuosi. In Omerelu community,  five persons lost their lives in a cult war. The victims are  Okechukwu Enyindah; Bobo, popularly called  Banigo; Amadi alias Too much Money; Timothy and one other, simply identified as Scatter. Former Barcelona president Sandro Rosell was arrested on Tuesday in a money laundering investigation related to image rights in the Brazilian national football team, a police spokesman said. Sandro Rosell The police operation was mainly carried out in the northeastern region of Catalonia and for the moment “there are four or five detainees, including the former president of Barca, Sandro Rosell, and his wife,” the police spokesman said. The investigation focuses on “money laundering in companies linked to the image rights of the Brazilian football team,” police added. Officers were searching the homes of those arrested as part of the operation as well as at several company headquarters in Barcelona, Girona and Lleida in Catalonia and in Andorra, a tiny principality wedged between Spain and France, police said. Oyo govt. to distribute seized wares to orphanages

Mr Isaac Ishola, the Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources in Oyo State, says wares seized from traders who flout environmental sanitation laws will be distributed  to orphanages. Ishola said  in  a statement in Ibadan on Tuesday  that street trading persisted  because offenders were able to retrieve their wares after paying fines. The commissioner said in the statement signed  by the  Press Officer in the ministry, Mr Olusegun Adesoji,  that government would  do everything possible to ensure environmental cleanliness. “ The present administration places so much priority on healthy and hygienic environment and safety of lives and properties,’’ he was quoted to have said in the statement. Ishola called for attitudinal change among residents,  saying they should desist from waiting for government to enforce environmental laws. He said that the full enforcement of environmental laws commenced on May 15 and would be observed in the morning and evening. The commissioner also warn
